To highlight some of the wonderful historical content of The National Infantry Museum and Soldier Center, the Infantry Museum has partnered with the MCoE HQ Donovan Research Library to host a Special Collections page showcasing some Infantry historical collections and other key documents from the museum's primary source research holdings. These collections will provide a wealth of knowledge about the American Infantry Soldier and will provide a way for customers to view content online. CPL Aaron Yamin Collection - Corporal Aaron “Harry” Yamin was an infantryman in Company B of the 306th Infantry Regiment in the 77th Division of the American Expeditionary Forces. On September 27, 1918, while in the Meuse Argonne Offensive, his division was in the vicinity of Abri de St. Louis and St. Hubert’s Pavilion, when he with Private First-Class Carl Johnson were under heavy gunfire while volunteering to cut the barb wire while calling to the rest of his platoon to advance. Both died two days later from the wounds they had sustained. As a result of his bravery Yamin was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross by the War Department in 1919. He was interred at the Commune in La Chalade Meuse, France. He was later reinterred at the U.S. Cemetery at Romagne, France, Grave 34, Sec. 111, Plot 1.
