Vietnam War Student Paper Collection

This collection of personal experience monographs and student papers describe combat operations, actions and campaigns in such areas as the IA Drang Valley, South Vietnam, North Vietnam and Laos. The content does not represent an official view or publication only the opinions of the authors who wrote them.

SPECIAL ADDITION

The following is a collection of photographs and letters sent to college friends, dated from 27 November 1969 to 26 May 1970, from John Cook. Mr. Cook served with the 1st Infantry Division, 2-16th Infantry, as a 1st Lieutenant in the Long Binh area of Vietnam. After his military career he served as an Army Librarian in Europe and as the Director at the former Sayers Memorial Library, Fort Benning, Georgia. He retired in 2004 after 35 years of combined federal service. Posted with permission from Mr. Cook.


The following memoir was written by LTC (r) Thomas W. Stewart, who discusses his experiences in the Dewey Canyon II/Lam Son 719 Operation in Vietnam. He is also mentioned in the book "Mounted Combat in Vietnam". He retired in 1984.
