Major General Curtis A. Buzzard is originally from Philadelphia, PA and graduated from the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, NY in 1992. He commissioned as an Infantry Officer and began his career in the 82nd Airborne Division.

Over his 31 years of service, MG Buzzard served in numerous command and staff assignments across Airborne, Light, and Mechanized Infantry and Stryker formations and deployed multiple times to Iraq and Afghanistan. Some notable assignments include Company Command in the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment and 3rd US Infantry, Military Aide for Presidents Bush and Obama, Battalion and Brigade Command in combat in the 82nd Airborne Division, Commander of the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, Deputy Commander for the 7th Infantry Division, and the 78th Commandant of Cadets at USMA.

MG Buzzard earned Master's Degrees from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Marine Corps University. He also served as an Army War College Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and is a current member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

MG Buzzard is married to the former Teri Marie Anderson, a registered nurse and former Army officer. They are the proud parents of three daughters in a military family – Katie is a Physical Therapist and Army spouse, Caroline is a Naval Flight Officer, and Anna is a recently commissioned officer from the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD.
