Colonel Ryan Wylie

COL Ryan Wylie is a native of Lincoln, NE. He commissioned as an Infantry officer in 1998 from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.

During his 24 years of military service, COL Wylie has served in leadership and staff positions from the platoon through the Brigade level. He was first assigned to 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell, KY and served in several Platoon Leader positions and as Battalion S3 Air. He was next assigned to 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, GA where he served as an Assistant S3 and Company Commander. In 2007, he was assigned as an Assistant Professor at the United States Military Academy in the Defense and Strategic Studies Program. In 2010, he was assigned to 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, NC where he served as the Brigade Chief of Operations, BN Executive Officer, and the Brigade S3. In 2013, he was assigned as the Chief of the Live Fire Division at the Joint Readiness Training Center, Fort Polk, LA. In 2015, he returned to the 101st Airborne Division and activated and commanded the 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment. He then was assigned to the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, Hohenfels, Germany, where he served as a Senior Maneuver Trainer, and Deputy Commander for Operations Group. Most recently he commanded the 198th Infantry Brigade (IN OSUT) at Fort Benning, GA.

COL Wylie has deployed on multiple occasions to include combat operations in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I and III, Operation New Dawn and Operation Inherent Resolve.

He is a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, the Infantry Captains Career Course, and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy and Master of Arts in Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School and the U.S. Army War College.

COL Wylie’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Citation, Army Superior Unit Award, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Ranger Tab.

He is married to the former Amy Galbraith of Henderson, TN and they have four children, Lucy, Hank, Sam, and Ruthie.
