The platoon is moving, conducting operations, and must execute action right or left.
The unit leader initiates the drill by using arm-and-hand signals, flags, or radio.to give the order, "EXECUTE ACTION RIGHT (or left)."
The mounted platoon changes direction into a line formation, orienting weapons on the enemy force.
1. The platoon leader signals action right or left using arm-and-hand, flags, or radio. (See figures J-24 through J-31.)
2. The drivers immediately execute a turn in the direction indicated while moving into a line formation :
3. The platoon leader orders the vehicle commanders to seek covered positions for their vehicles or have them continue to move in the direction indicated.
4. The vehicle commanders orient the main weapons toward the enemy, and the vehicle commanders and gunners search for targets.
5. The platoon leader determines if it is necessary to dismount the rifle squads.
6. The platoon leader reports the situation to the company commander, if needed.
